BDU Officers’ Association formed a Human Chain demanding previous pension system to bring back

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh Officers’ Association has formed a human chain to demand the immediate withdrawal of inclusion of public universities from the notification of Universal Pension Scheme Rules 2023. On Monday, June 3, 2024, at the invitation of the Bangladesh Inter-University Officers Federation, the university officials made this human chain in front of the administrative building of the university.

BDU Officers’ Association convener Gautam Kumar Kundu chaired the profram and member secretary AKM Imran Hossain moderated the human chain. Joint convener of the committee Muhammad Shahinul Kabir, Ejaz Iqbal, Qazi Abdullah Al Farhad, M. Mostafizur Rahman and convener of the BDU Workers' Association Howladar Zahidur Rahman spoke at the event.

The speakers in the human chain said that the country is moving forward under the leadership of the honorable Prime Minister. By 2041, Bangladesh will become a developed, prosperous, smart Bangladesh. The eternal dream of the father of the nation was to build a discrimination-free Bangladesh. The father of the nation's dream will be disrupted if universal pension system is introduced in public universities. Therefore, we request honorable Prime Minister to intervene to bring back the existing pension system in public universities as soon as possible to build a Sonar Bangla free from discrimination.
